I believe it applies to anyone striving to achieve great things in life. He gave the speech in French, and it was titled "Citizens in a Republic." In it, Roosevelt spoke about the importance of civic engagement and the responsibility of those who hold public office. Roosevelt was in France to give a series of speeches, and this particular address was presented at the Sorbonne, a prestigious university in the city. One of his most famous speeches was "The Man in the Arena." He delivered it in Paris, France, on April 23rd, 1910. Roosevelt is famous for many accomplishments throughout his lifetime. One of my favorite presidents was Teddy Roosevelt. Like me, I'm sure everyone has their favorites and their not-so-favorites. President's Day has come to recognize the contributions and achievements of all the past US presidents. However, in 1971 the government moved the holiday to the third Monday in February to create a three-day weekend for most workers. Originally this holiday was established in 1885 in honor of the birthday of George Washington, our first president. Monday, we celebrate Presidents Day here in the US.
